Frequent Questions About Therapy Services

WHAT IS THE FREE CONSULTATION?

We will spend 20-30 minutes, in person or on the phone, discussing the reasons you are seeking support to help me best understand how I can be of service to you. During this time, you get a chance to experience how I practice and determine if that is a fit for you.

We'll also discuss practical matters like payment, appointment availability, and next steps to scheduling a first appointment. There is no obligation if you choose another provider!

You're not considered a client of SRPS until all legal forms are signed and the intake assessment is completed.

I'VE NEVER BEEN TO THERAPY...WHAT CAN I EXPECT?

The first step is scheduling a consultation. If after the consultation you and I agree to work together, I'll provide the required paperwork that you'll bring to the first scheduled appointment.

The first scheduled appointment involves gathering background information and beginning to create our working relationship as therapist and client. Plus, I'll review the paperwork and answer any questions.

After the first session, we'll work on creating goals to help create movement in the areas of your life causing distress. Typically our time together is a mix of conversation, using various tools, and discussion of any homework (or between session tasks) you've been completing.

One of the biggest reasons clients are successful is willingness to make changes!

ONCE WE BEGIN WORKING TOGETHER, HOW OFTEN WILL I SEE YOU?

How often appointments are scheduled is largely dependent on the reasons for seeking services. I do prefer to meet more frequently in the beginning.

The frequency of sessions is something I discuss from the beginning of the therapist-client relationship based on my clinical judgement and expertise.

WHAT ARE YOUR HOURS AND HOW CAN I CONTACT YOU?

Office hours are generally 12:00pm to 6:30pm Monday -Thursday and 12:00pm to 5:00pm Fridays. Closed on weekends and major holidays.

You may contact me via email or with a phone call. I may be busy with other clients when you call, so please leave a message. Your call is important to me!
